the model was started by markie in 1997.
the house is where the model is made.
in the beginning, just ideas,
analog and early digital synthesizers,
roland drum machines and pedals;
ideas from western and eastern philosophy,
and wherever else they come from.
the model was also made from used dental chair parts.

the model productions
markie went on to form the model productions (t.m.p.) with several fellow students in 1998, and they self-published a manifesto. out of this came a series of semi-annual philosophic-kraut-pop parties in Philadelphia warehouses over the next few years. these performances became more and more elaborate over time, and were facilitated by many artists, designers, photographers, poets and actors who were moved by the central themes of the model and t.m.p. the live experiences were woven into loose narratives, suffused with pulsating beats and drones and video, telegraphic speech punctuated by nonsense and other surprises.

in 2003, markie made a record that was both less than
and more than what came before. it was
and this was now th model.
these ideas and sounds were presented at two or three
experiential parties in and around Philadelphia.

the final performance of th model was
a solitary ceremony
held in the Western part of Iceland
photographed by co-founding t.m.p. partner
Jeremy Evans Thomas in 2005.
